Information DarkPlayer Handles
Local media files
When you import audio or video from Files, Photos, WiFi Transfer, or Google Drive, DarkPlayer saves a copy in the app's local storage so you can play it offline. The app may read basic media metadata such as title, artist, duration, file type, and artwork or thumbnails in order to display your library and player controls.
Photos and Files access
If you choose to import from Photos or Files, iOS may ask for permission. DarkPlayer uses the selected items only for importing media or choosing artwork. The app does not scan your entire photo library unless you explicitly select items.
WiFi Transfer
WiFi Transfer starts a temporary local upload page on your device. Devices on the same WiFi network can open the shown address or QR code and upload audio or video files. Uploaded files are saved into DarkPlayer's local app storage. The upload page stops when you stop transfer or close the transfer flow.
Google Drive import
If you choose Google Drive import, DarkPlayer uses Google Sign-In to request access to list and download audio or video files you select from your Google Drive. Google handles the sign-in process. DarkPlayer does not receive your Google password. Access tokens are used for the import flow and are governed by Google's policies.
Background playback and lock screen controls
DarkPlayer may provide the current track title, artist, artwork, duration, and playback position to iOS media controls so playback can be controlled from the lock screen, headphones, Bluetooth devices, or car systems.
Data Sharing
DarkPlayer does not sell your personal data. Media imported into DarkPlayer is stored locally on your device unless you use iOS sharing, backups, or other system features outside the app. Google Drive sign-in and file access are provided by Google and subject to Google's privacy practices.
Data Retention and Deletion
Imported files remain in DarkPlayer until you delete them in the app or remove the app from your device. Deleting the app may remove locally stored app data, depending on iOS backup and restore settings.
Children's Privacy
DarkPlayer is not directed to children under 13. The app does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy when app features or legal requirements change. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
