Agreement and operator

These terms apply to your use of Lesscreen, provided by jirryjirry. By using the app, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use it. You must have legal capacity to accept these terms, or appropriate permission from a parent or guardian when required.

What Lesscreen does

Lesscreen helps you manage your own screen time through focus sessions, scheduled blocking and shared daily limits. It requires a compatible iPhone, iOS 16 or later and Screen Time authorization. It is not an emergency service, medical treatment or a remote parental-monitoring service. No account is required.

How blocking works

You choose the apps, categories, websites, times and days to restrict. A daily budget is shared across that plan’s selection, not granted separately to every app. On iOS 17.4 and later, earlier use from the same day may count toward the budget. Overlapping plans can continue to block an app until all applicable restrictions have ended.

Protecting a plan prevents stopping, editing or deleting it inside Lesscreen during an active blocking period. It does not prevent revoking permission in iOS Settings, nor make the app impossible to bypass. Apple controls the underlying system APIs, so operation can be affected by permissions, system versions and device conditions.

Your responsibilities

Choose restrictions carefully and keep essential communication and services available. Do not rely on Lesscreen as the sole safeguard for safety, health, child supervision or access control. Use the app only on devices you are entitled to manage and in compliance with applicable law. Do not use it for covert monitoring or to interfere unlawfully with another person’s device.

License and acceptable use

Subject to these terms and the applicable App Store rules, you receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the app for its intended purpose. Lesscreen and its content remain owned by their respective rights holders. Do not redistribute the app, misrepresent ownership, disrupt its services or attempt unauthorized access. Restrictions on reverse engineering apply only to the extent permitted by law.

Privacy and support

Our Privacy Policy describes the handling of local Screen Time data, Firebase diagnostics, support messages and website information. Contact support@jirryjirry.com for technical assistance or questions about these terms. Sending a support request does not guarantee a particular response time or outcome.

Updates and availability

Features and compatibility may change as Lesscreen and iOS evolve. We may provide updates, modify features or discontinue services, subject to applicable law and any required notice. The 1.0.2 redesign uses a new plan structure: plans from older versions are not migrated and must be recreated. We do not guarantee uninterrupted operation, a particular reduction in screen time or preservation of all data through every update.

Warranties and responsibility

To the extent permitted by law, the app is provided as available without a guarantee that it will meet every need or remain free from errors. You remain responsible for your device settings and use. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or remedies that cannot legally be excluded, or liability that the law does not allow us to limit, including applicable consumer protections.

Apple and applicable rights

Your use is also subject to the applicable Apple App Store terms and, where applicable, Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement. These terms do not grant rights to third-party apps or content and do not imply endorsement by Apple. Mandatory local law prevails over any conflicting provision.

Changes and contact

We may revise these terms and publish the updated date here. Where required, material changes will receive additional notice. If you no longer agree, stop using the app. Questions may be sent to jirryjirry at support@jirryjirry.com.
